Pupils got in gear for lessons with a cycle training organisation.
Cycle instructors from Pedal Ready in the Peak District visited Darley Churchtown Primary School to train youngsters to cycle safely.
Cycle instructor David Bocking said the event, which offered road skills, how to use brakes and how to fix your bike, was funded by the Pedal Peak District project to help more people learn to cycle.
He added: “More people want to cycle to save money, improve their health and make carbon dioxide savings. What can put people off is worrying about how to deal with traffic. We take people out and show them how to make sure they are safe on the roads.”
