Plaque to honour group’s milestone
Chesterfield and District Civic Society was established in 1964 and was part of the movement to save Chesterfield market when it was threatened with closure to make way for a proposed shopping centre.
The survival of the Market Hall and its recent £4million refurbishment will be celebrated at the unveiling of the blue plaque which will take place at the historic building at 6pm on April 8.
