A DALES director has returned home in triumph after wowing audiences at an international festival.

Twelfth Night, directed by Suzanne Alford, of Wirksworth, drew the crowd and ovations for its two-night run at the International Fringe Festival, in Stratford-upon-Avon, last month.

Suzanne said: “It went amazingly well. I was a bit nervous about taking it there as they are so used to seeing Shakespeare but in fact they really loved it. Everyone said the cast was outstanding.”

The troupe consists of 24 actors, singers and musicians who are all aged 16-18. They are now focused on making their debut locally with performances at The Ashbourne Festival, in the town hall, on June 28, and in Kirk Ireton village hall, at 3pm on July 10.

The colourful touring set has been designed by top theatre production designer Kevin Jenkins.
