Police launch appeal after trike crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road collision in Shuttlewood.

At about 10.35am, on Friday, June 6, according to Derbyshire Constabulary, the rider of a black Reliant trike lost control of his vehicle on a right hand bend and left Bolsover Road in Shuttlewood.

He then collided with a wooden fence and ended up in a field.

The rider, a 57-year-old local man, sustained multiple serious injuries and was airlifted to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

The road was closed for more than three hours.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call Derbyshire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident number 225 06/06/14.
