Police warning after spate of arson attacks

Police have issued a warning after a spate of arson attacks across the Matlock area this week.

Several incidents have been reported to the police where wheelie bins and a recycling container have been set on fire.

This include:

Crime number: 49224/12 - near to a farm in Birchover, Matlock - wheelie bins set on fire also causing damage to the wooden farm gate overnight on 14/15th November.

Crime number: 49111/12 - near to a farm in Riber, Matlock - recycling box and bag set on fire overnight on 13/14th November.

Crime number: 48950/12 - near to a property at Cromford Bridge, Matlock - wheelie bin set on fire between 9pm-10pm on Monday 12th November.

A police spokeswoman said: “Please be extra vigilant. If you have any information or wish to report anything suspicious please call Derbyshire police on 101.”
