Mother’s Day joy was spread in Wirksworth as creative youngsters made pretty posies for their mums.
The event at the town’s farmers’ market saw children get crafty with colourful paper and flowers and create floral designs.
The creations were then put on display in the Memorial Hall and new shop Scrumdiddlyumptious provided prizes for the most eye-catching posies.
The event also saw choir, Raise Your Voices and Wirksworth Junior School Choir singing and South African dancers performed too.
Shirley Mann, of New Opportunities Wirksworth, said: “The market is going from strength to strength, because it’s more than just a farmers’ market. We aim to always have some music, events, dance and singing as well as growing array of really good stalls selling local produce and crafts.
“It’s becoming known as one of the friendliest, liveliest markets in Derbyshire.”
Next month the market will be hosting May dancing by youngsters from Debi Hedderwick’s dance group and a Fair Trade cafe, outside the outside the Memorial Hall and gardens.
