Quad bike stolen from Derbyshire farm

At about 12.45am on Friday, December 2 thieves gained access to a farm off Edge Road in Eyam and removed a large steel door from a barn on the land and made off with a red Honda TRX quad bike.

Following the theft, police are encouraging homeowners living in the rural communities to take steps to boost the security of their barns, sheds and other outbuildings.

This includes using good quality locks suitable for the strength of the door, marking valuable items with a security fluid such as SmartWater, installing motion light sensors and further securing items such as quad bikes with a chain inside the outbuilding.

Residents are also being reminded to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to police so that they can help to stop a crime from happening.
