The achievements of Bakewell Town Football Club were in the spotlight at a presentation event.

Derbyshire Dales District Council paid tribute to the club and presented a certificate and a plaque celebrating the FA Charter Standard Adult Club accreditation.

Nick Rosling, of Bakewell Town FC, said: “A lot of hard work has gone into building the club and establishing it as a local premier league force – and we now have a reserve side playing at the Recreation Ground. Receiving this award helps to recognise our achievements over the past year and we are keen to continue to develop football in Bakewell and forge better links with Bakewell Juniors FC.”

Cllr Janet Goodison added: “Achieving the award helps to demonstrate to parents, players and volunteers that they are setting a high standard on and off the field.” The club is always looking for more players and volunteers. Contact Nick on 07738 256633.
