A county-wide campaign to highlight domestic abuse has been launched to raise awareness and offer victims the support they need.
The campaign, called the 12 days of Christmas, highlights that victims can experience all types of abuse including physical, financial and mental.
Cllr Carol Hart, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Public Health, said: “This kind of crime goes on behind closed doors which is why it’s vital we highlight awareness of the support that’s available to victims.
“We want anyone who is suffering in silence to know that support is available at the end of a phone.”
Anyone who needs help or support can ring the Derbyshire Domestic Abuse Helpline on 08000 198668.
