Britain’s oldest man helped re-open a charity shop in his home town.
Reg Dean who celebrated his 109th birthday last month cut the ribbon with mayor Andy Pollock, to formally re-open the Wirksworth Charity Shop.
Mr Dean was impressed with the shop transformation and wished the shop well as they started trading again.
New and regular customers joined volunteers and staff to celebrate with refreshments and mince pies.
Age UK Derby and Derbyshire (formerly Age Concern Derby and Derbyshire) has created a great new look for their Wirksworth shop.
The charity shop has been redeveloped to reflect the bright, bold colours of Age UK.
Katy Pugh, chief executive said: “We have wanted to improve the shop to make it an even better place to volunteer for a very long time now and it’s wonderful to see the shop looking so good.”
