Residents call for restrictions

NEARLY 40 people have petitioned Derbyshire County Council for parking restrictions to be added in a Matlock estate.

The document says Hooley’s Estate, off Bakewell Road, becomes dangerous when drivers park on both sides.

It says this is an “accident waiting to happen because of visibility and there being nowhere for vehicles to manoeuvre out of the way” and there have been occasions when an ambulance could not get through.

A spokeswoman for the county council said they were set to meet with residents in the next few weeks to discuss the issues.
