Ripley Rotary club marks 89th charter anniversary milestone

The Rotary Club of Ripley celebrated its 89th Charter Anniversary at Santo’s, Higham Farm Hotel.

The Rotary Club of Ripley has celebrated its 89th Charter Anniversary at Santo’s, Higham Farm Hotel.

The birthday celebrations began with past president Keith Watson speaking the Rotary Grace followed by a four-course meal. Then the Loyal Toast of ‘The Queen’ was proposed by President Paul Rose.

The roll call of visiting guests and clubs was called by toast master past president Owen J Briggs.

The toast to Rotary International was proposed by president-elect Marie Jackson. The response to the toast and the toast to the Rotary Club of Ripley was proposed by district governor Peter Moralee.

The response was given by President Paul Rose. The toast to the visitors and guests were given by past president Stuart E Rice.

The final words and the Rotary toast were spoken by president Paul Rose.

Singing, dancing and merriment followed with music by local group ‘I Surrender’.
