Road closures and travel update across Derbyshire today

Snow and treacherous weather conditions has caused a number of road closures and disruptions across the county this morning (Thursday, January 29).

Police have advised the closure of:

Winnats Pass, Castleton

Rushup Edge, between Castleton and Chapel-en-le-Frith

A53 Axe Edge

A628 Woodhead Pass (operated by the Highways Agency)

A6024 Holme Moss at Crowden

Torside (Glossop to Woodhead Pass)

A57 Snake Pass

A53 Leek Road - Buxton, is closed due to snow near A54 Macclesfield Main Road.

B6521 NEW ROAD - Eyam, is closed both ways due to landslip between The Causeway (Eyam) and B6001 Main Road (Grindleford).

M1 Northbound - One lane is blocked due to a broken down van just before Woodall Services

There is also a warning of hazardous driving conditions on the following roads:

A515 TERRACE ROAD - Buxton Town Centre, hazardous driving conditions due to ice and snow on A515 Terrace Road between A53 St John’s Road and High Street. Expected to be clear by 10am.

A5270 - Chelmorton, hazardous driving conditions due to ice and snow on A5270 between A515 and A6. Expected to be clear by 10am.
