A CAT which mysteriously disappeared has been reunited with his owner – almost a year after going missing.

Roger was an eight-month-old kitten when he vanished from his home at Tansley in April of last year.

Owner Ros Jones spent months searching for the family pet, even posting his details on an on-line missing pet database, but eventually gave up hope.

Then just weeks ago she received an email from a woman living on Smedley Street, in Matlock several miles away, saying she had found a cat matching the description.

He was in a poor physical state suffering from dehydration, covered in fleas with matted fur and could barely walk.

But after some loving care, he is now slowly on the mend, but Ros is now eager to learn where the whiskered wanderer has been for the past 11 months and hopes someone can shed light on his disappearance.

Ros, 38, said: “He was very much a kitten when we last saw him, now he’s three times the size. We’d assumed somebody had taken him.

“I’m still in shock, but we’re so glad we have him back.”
