WIRKSWORTH Rotary Club welcomed the President of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland to Aquabox and to meet Britain’s oldest man, who is also a member of the club.

President Jim Moulson, who is undertaking a major tour of all Rotary districts, said: “Aquabox has been called into action in Haiti, Pakistan and, most recently, St Lucia and Nigera. Countless lives have been saved by providing these basic requirements.”

Aquabox trustee, David Haspel, showcased the new extended premises (see David’s letter in this week’s Mercury)

As part of his tour, Mr Moulson also met honorary rotarian Reg Dean who, at the age of 108, is the oldest man in Britain and long-standing Rotary supporter who still visits the Wirksworth club.
