Pupils at a Matlock Infants are top of the class – after being praised by school watchdogs.

All Saints Infants was deemed good with outstanding features in a recent Ofsted inspection.

Inspectors highlighted the school’s excellent safe-guarding arrangements, outstanding care, guidance and support as well as its outstanding work with partners.

The results also show the school has improved since the last inspection.

Head teacher Kate Griffin said: “We are thrilled with the result.

“It is a real team effort and all the staff work very well together.”

She added: “It was also noted that lessons are fun and children are happy in school.”

Children have been having fun in class this week too as the school hosted its annual production, a modern rendition of Beauty and the Beast.
