It is regrettable that Derbyshire Dales District Council appears either incapable, unable, or unwilling to prevent the dumping of rubbish bags in Crown Square. This takes place week after week, despite numerous complaints from several sources over many months, they are now a feature of the Square (see picture above). One million pounds was spent on improving the area which encouraged several quality traders to move in. This problem along with a very low standard of street cleaning reflects badly on Matlock. Come on District Council, show a little pride in your County Town.
