Car-parking charges are to be introduced at village train stations.
Prices at Ambergate, Whatstandwell and Duffield will be £2 a day from spring to help fund a multi-million-pound station and fleet improvement programme.
Charges, including weekends, will be £2 daily, £8 weekly, £24 monthly and £240 for a year.
David Horne, East Midlands Trains’ commercial and customer service director, said charging for parking was “standard practice” at the majority of stations.
He added: “The new rates are competitively priced. They reflect the cost of alternative local car parking.”
Checks will be made to ensure passengers are using pay-and-display machines.
