A huge thank you to the 8,000 local people who have put their names down for Derbyshire Big Deals, our collective energy switching scheme run with consumer champions Which?.
And the number of households signing up is still rising rapidly – by the time you read this letter I am hoping we will have reached the 10,000 mark.Big Deals is all about local people coming together to get a better deal on gas and electricity.
The more people join, the greater our bargaining power with gas and electricity companies.
We are hoping that many households will save more than £200.
We know that local people are concerned about rising gas and electricity prices.
For many, particularly the elderly, fuel bills are their biggest household expense.
And we all know that we should switch to get a better deal – but sometimes it can seem too complicated.
We have made registering for Big Deals simple and easy.
It takes around five minutes and all you need is recent energy bill.
Either complete a short form online at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/bigdeals , visit any Derbyshire library where staff can help you fill in your details or call our Big Deals hotline on 01629 533365 between 9am-6pm Monday to Friday.
It’s free to join and there really is no catch. You choose whether to switch.
If you have already joined Big Deals – thank you.
At the end of this month we will be in touch to tell you how much you could save on your bills. If you have not yet registered I would urge you to consider it before Big Deals closes at 6pm on Wednesday 20 March.
