A FARMER’S wife is on a mission to get people buying meat from local butchers again.

Sally Mercer, wife of Packington free range pig farmer Rob Mercer, has unveiled the Butcher’s Buying Guide in an effort to de-mystify what she terms as ‘simple know-how’.

Sally said: “Younger shoppers are only familiar with the pre-packaged meats and supermarket buying.

“But believe it or not, shopping for meat in your butcher instead of the supermarket could save you a fortune.”
