DAREDEVILS are being encouraged to spring into action to raise cash in memory of a teenager.
A charity bungee jump evening is being held at The Gate Inn, Tansley, tomorrow (Friday, November 4) for tragic Gavin Webster, who lost his battle with cancer four years ago.
The former Highfields School pupil Gavin Webster, who was from Tansley, died in June 2007 after battling a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma for 14 months.
He had endured several gruelling chemotherapy treatments, and even managed step out as a mascot for his beloved Birmingham City while battling the illness.
He sadly died after being diagnosed with the blood poisoning condition, septicaemia, for the second time.
This week would have been Gavin’s 22nd birthday, so his brother Adam and mother Jeanette have organised the fundraiser.
Money raised will go towards children’s cancer charity, Clic Sargent.
The event will be held from 6pm to 8pm and people are being asked to step forward to take the plunge.
Anyone wishing to put their name down should contact Adam on 07775 325344.
