Talk of knickers to help raise cash for air ambulance

Fundraisers are getting their knickers in a twist in a bid to raise charity cash.

Janet Stain, known as The Knicker Lady, will be giving a talk on the history of underwear at the Medway Centre, in Bakewell, to raise money for The Air Ambulance Service.

The humorous one-hour show will explore who wore what and when.

Janet has toured all over the country discussing all things related to undergarments.

The show has been organised by the Bakewell air ambulance charity shop’s assistant manager, Coralie Smith, alongside shop manager Trish Grant and Sunday supervisors Vinnie Crompton and Chloe Beck.

The talk is part of the Octobash celebrations, which take place throughout October and mark Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance’s tenth birthday.

Knickers–A Brief History will take place on Monday, October 28, at 2pm

Tickets cost £5 and are available from the Bakewell shop.

Refreshments will also be available, along with Christmas cards and there will be a raffle.
