Three people taken to hospital after Darley Dale crash

Three people were taken to hospital after a crash on the A6 in Darley Dale on Wednesday afternoon.

The head-on collision occurred at around 4.30pm outside St Elphin’s Park and involved a Ford Transit panel van and a Vauxhall Zafira.

The road was closed in both directions but re-opened later in the evening.

Police, fire and the ambulance service attended the scene. One person was suffering from neck pain and had banged their head, another had a minor head injury and a third person suffered a suspected fractured sternum.

All three were taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
