A FRITCHLEY playgroup has received a £500 boost from a county councillor.

Fritchley Under Fives (FUFs) playgroup received a cheque from Cllr Chris Jackson which will be used to buy new toys and resources - top of the list is a new farm set.

Organiser Cindi Blunt said: “The group runs sessions for children aged two to school age in a fun and friendly setting. They have a wide range of toys and activities which change every day.

“They make regular visits to Fritchley Primary School which eases the children’s transition to ‘big school’.”

There are 29 children attending FUFs playgroup on different mornings and they are currently learning about dinosaurs and wild animals.
