A CARE worker from has qualified to become a trainer to benefit workers at a Darley Dale-based firm.
Sue Baldwin has qualified to NVQ level three in health and social care and works for Audley Care which helps elderly people with everyday chores.
She has completed an extensive ‘Preparing to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector’ course and she can now deliver a range of training modules for all carers under the umbrella of the Audley Academy.
This includes first aid, infection control, food hygiene and nutrition and health and safety.
Carers then undergo additional and more extensive training through a series of modules which cover medication, moving and lifting people safely, as well as many other aspects of older people’s safety and needs.
Sue said: “Having spent over 30 years in the caring profession, being able to pass on my experience is really satisfying.”
