A MATLOCK ballerina will spend her half-term holiday rehearsing for a national performance of Giselle.

Fourteen-year-old Daisy Edwards – who studies dance at The Hammond School in Chester – will appear as a forest nymph in the English Youth Ballet production next month.

Daisy began dancing when she was three and hopes to join a professional company when she finishes school.

And she already has two other English Youth Ballet performances under her belt: The Nutcracker in 2006 and Giselle in 2008.

Daisy’s father George Edwards said she doesn’t really get nervous.

She auditioned for the role along with 200 other dancers from this region, and will appear alongside principal artists Emma Lister and Oli Speers.

Performances are at the Royal Northern College of Music on November 9 and 10 at 7.30pm, with a Thursday matinee at 2.30pm.
