Generous parents helped raise more than £100 for worthy causes with a musical picnic.

More than seventy families turned out for the free music session in Hall Leys Park, Matlock, organised by Twistin’ Tots to raise money for East Midlands Children’s Hospice, Rainbows and Turnditch Primary School.

Ignoring the rain, the youngsters boogied to the Hokey Cokey, Dingle Dangle, Scarecrow and Runaway Train.

Special guests at the picnic included Boris the Boa Constrictor, Incey Wincey Spider and Bob the Builder, Pilchard and Wendy.

Jacqui Davis, Twistin’ Tots leader, said, “I was very impressed with the Matlock crowd as it rained twice during my session, but this didn’t dampen spirits – parents and children merely donned raincoats and put up umbrellas and we carried on.”

Twistin’ Tots classes aim to promote learning, co–ordination and movement in young children.

Classes run in term time in Matlock from 10am to 11am on Tuesdays at All Saints Church Hall, in Smedley Street, Matlock.
