Organisers of a Food & Craft Festival to be held in Matlock Bath over the May Bank Holiday are offering discounted trading pitches for Derbyshire stallholders.
The festival, which will be held on the riverside from Friday 3rd to Monday 6th May 2013, will feature a range of local, regional and world foods together with traditional crafts and clothing.
The event will also feature a medieval section with traditional fayre, workshops, craft demonstrations, live music and comedy.
Organisers, The Market Square Group, are keen to give Derbyshire-based traders the chance to be part of the festival and are offering 25% discount to those offering homemade/locally-grown produce or handmade crafts.
The Group’s Paul Kennedy said: “We’re delighted to be bringing this event to Matlock Bath on what promises to be a very busy Bank Holiday weekend for our traders. The market will feature products and produce from across the globe but we always like to ensure a regional element to our events.
“We hope that businesses in and around Matlock Bath will come on board to help us offer our visitors a truly inclusive experience.”
He added: “We are particularly keen to include homemade, locally sourced, seasonal fare which will sit alongside a tasty, exotic and colourful mix of food and drink from across the globe.”
The event is supported by Derbyshire Dales District Council. Communities chair Cllr Carol Walker said: “We are delightedDerwent Gardens will be the backdrop for what sounds like a terrific festival.”
