A project to transform a tree stump in Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens into a work of art is now underway.

The beech tree by the toddlers play area had to be felled some years ago and plans to give it a new lease of life have been in development since then.

The Friends of Pavilion Gardens group has raised money for the carving via events and grant applications and worked with tree artist Andrew Frost and High Peak Borough Council to get the scheme off the ground.
