Trial after A6 road death

A motorist is to stand trial over the death of an elderly pedestrian in Ambergate.

Timothy Collis, 45, of Cromford, is accused of causing the death of Florence Crofts by dangerous driving on February 24 this year.

Ms Crofts, 78, of Marsh Lane, Belper, was on her way to a pantomime at St Anne’s Church when she was in collision with a car on the A6.

Collis, of Station House, pleaded not guilty to the charge. His trial is due to start on Monday, January 16 at Nottingham Crown Court.
