Are you ready to get your geek on at Buxton’s first-ever Comic-Con?

Fanboys and Sci-Fi lovers will be able to immerse their inner geek in the weird and the wonderful world of science fiction and comic book fantasy at the historic Devonshire Dome - home to the University of Derby’s Buxton Campus - on Saturday March 5, between 11am and 4pm.

Visitors to UNICON will get the chance to mingle with special guests from the world of TV and film during the day-long extravaganza, while stunning displays will feature everything from Daleks and Dr Who’s TARDIS through to characters from Alien, Predator, Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica - with plenty of photo opportunities.

New Mills businessman Steven Howard is organising the Buxton event, and was behind the inaugural WHY?CON which was held in the Peak District last August.

He said: “We are trying to take the Comic-Con scene to areas that never get a chance to see one - last year saw us take one to Nantwich and another to Bakewell.

“This year we will be returning to those areas, as well as Alton Towers, but I thought ‘let’s go local’ and chose the stunning and prestigious Devonshire Dome.”

Norman Lovett, Holly from Red Dwarf, will be among the special guests at UNICON in Buxton.
