Early morning mists over Matlock Bath, view form Heights of Abraham
Early morning mists over Matlock Bath, view form Heights of Abraham

Is it the Alps, a shot of the Black Forest?

No - it’s Matlock Bath!

This evocative landscape image was taken from the Heights of Abraham visitor centre (Treetops) at 9am, showing the early morning mist lifting to welcome a beautiful August day.

It was sent to us by John Armstrong-Coulson,

events and marketing manager at The Heights of Abraham.

He said: “Despite weather forecasts to the contrary we have avoided most of the rain and showers enjoying a traditional Great British summer.”

We would like to include more photographs of our landscape and architecture on this page and are inviting readers to submit pictures for use each week. Please also tell us a bit about the picture.

Anyone who gets one of their pictures printed will receive a set of First Edition collection stamps from Royal Mail.

Email your pictures of Derbyshire and the Peak District to Views Thru A Lens at news@matlockmercury.co.uk or send them to 37 Station Road, Chesterfield, s41 7XD.

Alternatively, you can leave them at the Mercury Post Box at Bridge News, Crown Square, Matlock.
