A walker was airlifted to hospital with a broken ankle after a fall on Thursday, August 18.
The joint Edale and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams snatch squad was called to Castleton on Thursday afternoon to assist the East Midlands Ambulance Service.
A 65-year-old woman from Handforth, Cheshire was walking along the footpath above Goosehill Hall when she slipped and sustained a suspected fractured ankle.
She was treated on site by the ambulance service paramedics, placed onto the team’s specialist stretcher and carried to the road head by team personnel.
The woman was then transferred into the waiting ambulance and taken to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport for further treatment.
