THIRTY youngsters enjoyed a healthy and green approach to getting to school by joining a new walking bus scheme.
Staff and volunteers organised the scheme to support parents in getting children to Castle View Primary School, in Matlock, safely and on time.
Headteacher Peter Hooper said parents had found the scheme very useful.
He added: “We are proud to support our community in whatever way we can and it’s great that so many children joined us.”
The initiative is supported by the Co-operative Store and enables parents to drop off their children at designated points on a specified route, to be taken to school by the walking bus team.
