It’s okay to build these cheaper homes around Matlock, but they are mostly part-buy, part-rent.
Why don’t they build cheaper homes for rent, especially for young married or decent couples, as they don’t stand a chance of a council house as most of them are given to these single mothers who have never worked and never will.
They have a baby or two, get a council house, all the benefit perks plus rent and council tax.
And, why is there so many empty flats up Hazel Grove, one has been empty for over a year. If the old people don’t want them, I’m sure a decent working couple would be glad of one.
Why are these single mothers classed as top priority, there are some couples who don’t want children until they can afford them, but they never get the chance of a council house.
