A 56-year-old woman died when she was hit by a van last weekend.

The woman, from Ashover, died after being hit by a silver-coloured van on the A615.

The incident took place at around 21.50pm on Saturday, August 13.

Police have launched an investigation following the fatal road traffic collision, which took place between Wessington and Tansley.

The road was closed following the incident.

Officers have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any further information to get in touch with police.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Constabulary said: “Police are investigating a fatal road traffic collision where a local 56- year-old woman died.

“Witnesses who saw the collision involving a pedestrian and a silver-coloured van or who saw either party before the incident are urged to contact police.”
