A BUSINESS group especially for women working in rural Derbyshire is to be launched in Dethick later this month.

The first in a series of meetings for new group Really Wired Women Derbyshire, part of Women in Rural Enterprise (WiRE), will take place at the new rural conference centre at the Calf House on Thursday, September 30.

Launched by Rebecca Foster of Rebecca Foster Design Ltd, the meetings welcome women in the area who are in business, new to business or thinking about going in to business.

They will be held throughout the year, giving attendees the chance to network and develop relationships as well as listen to guest speakers.

The opening meeting will be introduced by Simon Groom, who owns the newly restored Calf House with his wife Gilly.

Simon is known for his work as an ex-television presenter on Blue Peter and Gilly, who will be first guest speaker at the meeting, used to work for the BBC before running her own bed and breakfast and rural conference centre.

Catherine Webster who runs Muddy Boots Business Assistance said she is delighted to see the launch of a new WiRE network.

She said: “Having been involved with WiRE for many years, it is great to see a new network starting in Derbyshire.”

“There are so many women operating interesting businesses across the county and I look forward to the results of bringing them together and the opportunities this may bring to their enterprises” she added.

Places at the meetings are limited so to attend email rebecca@rebeccabishopdesign.com.

Further details and directions will then be emailed back to you.
