Community spirit is running high in Youlgrave as residents prepare for the villages yearly pantomime. Marking the productions 50th anniversary, budding thespians have been busy rehearsing to ensure the forthcoming performance of Aladdin lives up to the high reputation that the Youlgrave panto has earned over the years.
Jan Wilson, writer and producer, said: “This pantomime will really cheer you up. We’ve got a fantastic cast, brilliant costumes and a lovely community spirit for those that come along.”
Taking lead roles in this years performance are Sophie Dillon and Camila Parker who are playing Aladdin and Princess Balroubador respectively.
Jan also mentions that anyone who comes along will be ‘highly amused’ by comedy duo Wishy Washy and Hanky Panky who are played by Simon Edmonds and Tissie Reason respectively.
