Youth club members spread some festive spirit to their older neighbours.

The Hurst Farm Community Association and the Hurst Farm Youth Club hosted a Christmas party for tenants of sheltered housing site for older people on Hazel Grove, Hazel Court and Lumsdale Crescent.

Youngsters created decorations and Christmas cards and helped host the party on the day.

They also presented mini hampers to the residents, donated by Sainsbury’s and Dales Housing.

Cllr Steve Flitter, acting chair of the Hurst Farm Community Association, said: “I am delighted that the young people of the community have shown such enthusiasm and commitment to this project, and helping their older neighbours to enjoy the Christmas festivities.

“It has shown once again that there is a terrific community spirit at Hurst Farm, and I am confident that this will form a positive bond and good relationship throughout our community both now and in the future. Well done to everyone involved.”
