This picture is taken at Matlock Mills of E H Bailey Mill workers.
They are standing with horses and carts full of bags of flour.

This picture is of E H Bailey workers on what is thought to be the first ever motor vehicle in Matlock.
It is stacked high with bags of E H Bailey high class flour.
The car badge says Armstrong Whitworth.
We are lucky to have some Matlock and District Operatic Society Souvenir programmes which contain some intersting adverts for local businesses of the time.
Below are some of the adverts taken from the 1930 programme of The Gondoliers.
Here is an advert for Williams Tailor in the Burgons Buildings, on Crown Square Matlock.
Smart tailored costumes from £3 3s 0d.
The advert reads: "What is neater and smarter than a well tailored costume.
"We have an excellent selection of cloths which will make up very choice garments.
"Every lady should have a tailored costume."
There is an advert for Smedley's Hydropathic Establishment which is now the County Council Headquarters on Bank Road.
The hydro was established in 1853.
The advert reads: "Vistors average 300 daily - two resident physicians - unrivalled hydropathic baths - elevator - electric light - large winter gardens - lounge corridor and spacious public rooms - extensive pleasure grounds commanding lovely views - contain large bowling green, six tennis courts (en-tout-cas and grass) -croquet lawn etc.
An illustrated prospectus was available on request.
Another Matlock Hydro was Rockside.
Another advert extolls its virtues: "Health at your Doors! Ultra violet rays, plombiere douche. Turkish and electric heat and light treatment. Open to residents of Maltock and District by appointment until 7pm.
Oldham and Prospect Hydro in Matlock is also mentioned.
"For Health Hydropathic treament a speciality."
Comfort - electric lighting, central heating, garage for 14 cars telephone 56.
This advert is for E H Dakin - ladies Hairdresser and Postichuer who had premises on Smedley Street and hairdressing courts at Regent House, Dale Road.
The advert offers permanent waving, the latest oil vapour process, a special offer for a full shingled head for 30 shillings.
Also for this period side pieces, eight curlers for 10 shillings.
Specialities include henna and camomile treatment, Marcel waving, manicure, face massage, violet ray, high frequency, hair tinting.
"We are accredited agents for Elizabeth Ardern's Beauty Specialities and Treatments, Houbigant Peruems andpowders, Coty perfumes and Powders and all leading makers. Hair Work and Invisible partings.
This advert is for T Sharp & Sons - Furnishers, Removers, Storers

A later programme is the 1953 The Street Singer.
Here we see adverts for Hall & Co (Matlock) Ltd on Dale Road. Who supplied everything from general ironmongers to household requisites, cleaning materials to china and glassware.
A. S Dakin and Sons Ltd on Crown Square is there as is The International Stores for all your groceries and provisions on 1 Dale Road.
A recognisable shop that is still in existance today is C Farmer, on Smedley Street in Matltock and King Stret in Bakewell.

Some of the names are recognisable, others are not. Do you remember your first TV set, perhaps it was bought from C Farmers.
