Don't these people know how busy we all are? They were only digging this stretch up last week.
It's the only thing more annoying than not being able to park up when you want to – being parked when you don't want to be.

oadworks from time to time. We want to use these roads, and we also expect efficiency from the tangle of utility pipes and cabling beneath our feet (or should that be tyres?).
But is it just me or is the A6 more of a building site than a road? I think there's a buried treasure rumour doing the rounds, because everybody seems to be slapping on a fluorescent jacket and digging a hole.
The road has been notorious for roadworks for a long time. For whatever reason, you could probably count on one hand the number of blissful weeks some part of it wasn't littered with cranes, diggers and temporary traffic lights.
The latest hold-ups have come as part of the Sainsbury's development in Matlock, and it's difficult to grumble when the project should be bringing much to the town's economy, as well as that fabled relief road.
But when you speak to people who have queued for two hours to get into town from Cromford you have to question whether traffic is being managed effectively enough.
By the same token however, I wonder how many of the people caught up in the delays weighed up whether they should have left the car at home altogether.
After all, on some days, it's actually quicker to walk.
