A GROUP of pupils from Highfields have gained three qualifications by taking part in a training course over ten weeks.
Year eight and nine pupils took part in the Catalyst Programme, designed to help youngsters fulfill their potential.

The course helped them with activities including finding new skills, improving self-esteem and developing confidence. Students who took part gained a first Aid certificate, a STEPS to Excellence award and a PEARL award.

Teacher Stuart Briddon, who co-ordinated the course at the Matlock school, said: “The students not only enjoy it, but benefit from it as they feel empowered to achieve their full potential.”
