Caring kids' hospice cash

PUPILS from All Saints Junior School in Matlock raised £760 for Ashgate Hospice after taking part in a series of fundraising events.
Teaching assistant Jan Leybourne said money was raised through three fund raising session, including a school production, raffle ticket sales and a designated table at the school fair.

Mrs Leybourne said the school, led by headteacher Caroline Newton, had wanted to show their support after a parent was cared for at the hospice.

She added: “We were obviously aware of the sad death of a parent and people were very generous. It was a nice way of being able to channel their support.”

Emily Evans fundraiser for the hospice and John MackMersh, whose wife Louise was cared for by the hospice received the cheque.
