Pupils from Wirksworth joined with artists to produce work which has been displayed as part of the town's festival.
The project started with a visit to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to see the work of Andy Goldsworthy.

Artists then came into school to work with the children, from Wirksworth Junior and Anthony Gell, creating sculptures, animations and casts which were completed at a two day summer school during the holidays.

The finished work was on show in several shop windows in the town.

All the children involved agreed that it had been great fun, and Junior school headteacher Bill Hawley said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for our children to get creative with some very inspiring professional artists.”
