CHILDREN at one Bakewell school learnt all about happiness, wealth and kindness in a new production.
Pupils at St Anslem's school took part in a production of The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde.
The story tells of a gilded statue, the happy prince, who gradually recognises all the pain and sorrow that exists in the city below him.
His heart overflows with love and pity, and he sacrifices his beautiful gems and gold to help others.
Co-ordinator Helen Robinson said: “The story is all about friendship and learning what is truly important and precious. I chose this story because it is very moral and teaches the importance of good deeds.
“The children did workshops and played games of co-operation and listening. They also bought in objects that made them happy and did a little speech about them.
“They all made props and costumes and helped each other learn the lines.”
