IN the opening Notts and Derbys Youth Border Cricket League U15 Dales section matches, Baslow's Adam Cartwright struck 49 and Alexander Park an unbeaten 47 in Baslow U15s' 128-2 against Matlock U15.
Matlock could only score 65 all out, succumbing to a 63-run defeat.
However, Liam Murphy’s 42 not out helped Wirksworth U15 to a total of 100-4 and an eventual 11-run win over Clifton.
Belper Meadows U15 posted 153-0 before reducing Ambergate t
o 39-7 and a 114-run loss.
In the U15 Amber section, Ashover’s Thomas Holmes scored 51 in his side’s 128 and took 3-16, while Matt Wattret took 3-4 as they defeated Alfreton by 83 runs.
In the U13 Dales section, 26 not out from Mike Jeffries pushed Wirksworth to 99-0, but Ambergate surpassed the target with seven wickets in hand.
The same score from the same player could not prevent a ten wicket defeat to Belper Meadows, Wirksworth having reached 126-8.
Matlock’s 131-3 was good enough and they beat Baslow by 53 runs.
But Ambergate’s 87-3 was not sufficient to prevent an eight-wicket defeat by Clifton.
In the U13 Derwent section, Ashover reached the 57 they needed to beat Alfreton with three wickets intact.
Ashover also beat Pilsley by 38 runs.
