MATLOCK and Bakewell rule the county's rugby roost after their sides picked up all four trophies on Derbyshire cup finals day.
Matlock firsts beat Derby for the seventh time on the bounce to retain the Derbyshire Cup and the second string won the Second XV Cup at the expense of Ashbourne.
Bakewell Mannerians firsts won the Derbyshire Shield, defeating Melbourne, while their second XV collected the President's Trophy.
After their victory in blistering temperatures at Chesterfield Rugby Club on Sunday, Matlock coach Chris Loeber urged his players not to loosen their "hold" over Derby when the Midlands Two East rivals meet again next season.
"We've got a hold over them, and if you'd said that at the beginning of last season, and certainly the season before when they beat us four times, you would never have believed it," he said.
"It's absolutely crucial now that we don't let go."
"You could almost see it the first time we set up a good position in their 22," Loeber added.
"You could almost see that they expected us to score, and that's where we have it."
"I thought that for the first half, perhaps after the first ten minutes, that was as well as we had played all year," he said.
"It was how we try to play, trying to be really strong in the forwards and to suck them in, create holes in the middle, suck them in again, and if we don't score down the middle, move it out and create space to to score out wide on the wings.
"That's not something we have achieved consistently enough.
"Perhaps one of the reasons for that is that the effort required to do that is immense, and the effort and commitment and sheer will to win of the entire team, but particularly the forwards, in that heat was incredible."
Loeber also heaped praise on the second XV, highlighting their success as indicative of the club's development this season.
"We now have a much bigger squad of players who can play in the first team and that is testament largely to the efforts of (seconds captain) Matt Hughes, who has really got hold of it by the scruff of the neck," said the coach.
Mannerians firsts will start just one division below Matlock and Derby next season after achieving their third successive promotion.
And they may get a chance to see how they measure up when they enter the Derbyshire Cup next year.
Captain Ed Hutchinson, however, was basking in Sunday's glories.
"It was a great day for Bakewell Mannerians Rugby Club," he told the Mercury.
"We are equally as pleased with winning the President's Trophy as the Derbyshire Shield because only two years ago we didn't have a second team at all.
"Last year, we fielded a second team five times and this season I think they have played something like 18 games.
"It's a fantastic achievement to have come from nothing and managed to get a side to build the playing squad up.
"We had a small playing squad three years ago of probably 25 players.
