Chesterfield Sunday League
Chesterfield Town 1 Elton 8

Elton returned to action after last week’s postponement and hit eight past bottom club Chesterfield Town.

The visitors took a first minute lead when Anthony Porter’s corner was headed home by James Wood, but some he
sitant defending between Johnny Heath and Matt Rhodes gave the hosts an equaliser.

Elton took the lead quarter of an hour into the second period when Sam Lightfoot beat the offside trap and broke free to chip the keeper from 20 yards.

The floodgates opened soon after, with Rob Lightfoot carrying on his scoring form by stabbing home Porter’s left wing cross.

Straight from kick-off Elton regained possession and Aaron O’Neill latched onto the loose ball to score on his Elton debut after signing from Darley United.

But Elton still weren’t done and Lee Marsden claimed the fifth when his cross eluded everybody in the box and landed into the net.

Substitute Matt Heath claimed his first after the keeper spilled Billy Lester’s low cross for number six and that was followed with the seventh which came from the right foot of skipper Andrew Rhodes.

Heath wrapped up the scoring with a tap in after O’Neill crossed low.
