This Monday's AGM at Matlock Water Polo Club's Matlock Green headquarters, saw very few changes in terms of officials and responsibilities but saw many in terms of hope and collective responsibility for the future.
Despite rumours of the money gradually running out, Dave Frost was re-elected as club chairman and was not slow in reasserting his authority.
"Everything is good about the club apart from results.
“The commitment and club spirit of many has
been top class and has kept us going.
“We need a positive attitude and to stick together in order to start winning and make our 25th year a good one."
Vice president Jim Evans went on further to say: "We have at least three juniors coming through who are as good as any we have ever had at the club.
“They need our support and encouragement."
During the evening, members heard that Paul Newcomb had played in more games than anyone and that newcomers Rob Lightfoot and new vice captain Richard Flint had contributed massively to the club.
Tom Illingworth was praised for taking on the goalkeeping responsibilities at short notice and president Reg Smith's close detail in his treasury bookeeping responsibilities despite wearing glasses made in just under an hour, (59 minutes, 47 seconds), was taken account of.
Reg also declined the use of a debt collecting agency for non-subscription payers.
The coaching staff headed by Richard Massey remains the same with Adam Ellis possibly rejoining in the new year.
This Saturday sees the club host its Christmas dinner and awards night at the Temple Hotel, Matlock Bath, for the third year running.
Organiser Andy Massey, looked stressed when interviewed last week. " I don't know my chicken in herbs and garlic sauce from my rocky road pudding at the moment. And as for stuffing, forget it!"
