Ashford in the Water travelled to take on Parkhead II in Yorkshire and Derbyshire Cricket League Division Two.
Ashford bowled out the hosts for 133 and then achieved the required total with the loss of just three wickets to claim 25 points.
Parkhead won the toss and elected to bat on a hard, dry track and lightning fast outfield which promised good value for any scoring shots.
Parkhead were immediately on the back foot with an attacking opening spell from the Ashford bowlers leaving them struggling at 12-3.
The fall of the third wicket brought Rory Rickaby to the crease whose positive stroke play signalled a fightback from Parkhead.
Rickaby and opener Russell Walch put on 95 for the fourth wicket until Rickaby was out for 57, all but three of those coming in boundaries.
Ashford brought on Matt Fountain who removed the patient opener Walch for 31 and then mopped up the Parkhead tail who could only muster 26 runs for the final six wickets.
Parkhead closed on 133 all out in 30 overs, a total that looked well below par.
The Ashford bowling highlight was Matt Fountain whose impressive figures were 7.3-2-23-6. Contributions also from Joe Muir (2-29), Kev Rowney (1-18) and Pete Marsden (1-48).
Ashford’s reply got off to the customary stuttering start with two quick wickets leaving Ashford reeling on 6-2.
The third wicket fell at 41 which brought Will Knifton-Smith to the crease to join his brother Tom. The pair put on an excellent 94 to see Ashford home with 23 overs to spare. Tom Knifton-Smith finished on 47* and Will finished on 43*.
For the Parkhead bowling, Tom Smith took 2-18 and Rory Rickaby took 1-22.
This victory sees Ashford create a 33 point gap above the relegation zone but a tricky fixture next week sees the visit of Hundall with Ashford keen to reverse their fortunes having lost at Hundall early in the season.
